Moran Scores High In Ratings Of Legislators By Anti-Israel, Anti-Lebanese Government Group

Moran scored a +3 in rating by Josh Ruebner's group, other VA congressman scored between -5 (Boucher) and -10 (Cantor)
Women's Issues
Arlington Green Party personality and Moran ally Josh Ruebner's group has published a scorecard for whether congressmen are going along with Josh's recommended anti-Israel, anti-Lebanese-government, pro-Hezbollah, pro-Hamas policies.

The ratings for Virginia congressmen are interesting. You can see them by going to Josh's group's website and entering the User ID 'report' and the password 'card' .

Josh states that the password is required for IRS purposes. That suggests that Josh's group is classified as a tax deductible charity organization. I might note that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee is not tax deductible. If Josh is putting on political rallies that is not normally a tax deductible actitiviy.

We can look Josh Ruebner's group's tax status later if it is sufficiently related to Ruebner's ally Jim Moran.

For now here are the ratings for Josh's highest rated VA Congressman (Moran at +3). Note again that the next "highest" rated VA congressman was Rick Boucher at -5. The lowest rated congressman was Eric Cantor at -10.

    The issues

    (1) Commending Palestinian President Election

    (2) Condemning Attacks on US Citizens

    (3) Anti- Semitism at UN

    (4) Castigating Israel at UN

    (5) Hamas Participation in PA Elections

    (6) UNRWA Integrity Act

    (7) Reunification of Jerusalem

    (8) Palestinian Anti-Terrorism Act

    (9) Condemning NATFHE Boycott of Israel

    (10) Cessation of Violence & Negotiations

    (11) Condemning Attacks on Israel

    (12) Concern at Israel/ Hezbollah Hostilities

    (13) US-Israel Energy Cooperation Act

    (14) Lebanon's Cedar Revolution

The last entry is of note in that it has nothing whatever to do with the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, the ostensible purpose of Josh's group. Indeed, it has nothing to do with Israel. It is an anti-Syrian, pro-Lebanese government resolution.
    8. Jim Moran-D Commending the Palestian President: +1
I commend Abbas too, in a few ways. This was an apple pie resolution that everyone including Moran voted for.
    Anti-Semitism at the UN: -1
Apparently Moran voted the right way on this, which was the wrong way for Ruebner.

Moran gets no pluses or minus on another category, "Castigating Israel in the UN." Ever the obscurantist on matters Mideast, Moran didn't vote or cast one of his "Present" votes.

Hamas Participation in the Palestinian Elections: +2
Moran was the only VA congressman not to get a minus rating from Ruebner on this one.
    Palestinian Anti-Terrorism Act: +2
Again, Moran is the only VA Congressman not to get a minus rating on this one.

Moran then gets a plus one for cosponsoring a resolution in favor of cessation of violence and negotiations. Josh's group assigned Moran negative ratings for voting in favor of a couple of pro-Israel resolutions that everyone else voted for as well.

The big differences between Moran and the others are his opposition to anti-Hamas legislation that also encompassed opposition to the Hamas-ruled Palestinian Authority. Moran picked up a whopping 4 points from Josh on that, while others lost two points.

The other big difference was Moran's unwillingness to vote for or against H.R. 438, castigating the UN for castigating Israel. I was unaware of that resolution and will look into it.

Josh's group also has a Hall Of Fame and Hall of Shame. Heading up the Hall of Fame in the Senate is N-word-user and former(?) Klan member Robert Byrd (D-WV.)

On the Congressional side, Moran makes the "Hall Of Fame" but is only tied for 12th with John Conyers (D-MI) and others. Most people on the list are people I don't hear of enough to spell their names correctly. Ron Paul (R-TX) was third, but most on the list were Dems.

As for the Hall of Shame, Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) who Pelosi promoted over the more senior Moran for the Legislative Branch subcommittee chair, is tied for fourth. She is the most photogenic of anyone on either list. Go Deb!

Rep. Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) won the Hall of Shame competition with a -18 vote. Hungarian-born Holocaust survivor Tom Lantos (D-CA) was second at -15 and Joseph Crowley (D-NY) bronzed at -14. GoodbyeJim congratulates these worthy congressional representatives for their fine showing.
